For its last trip in this maintenance group of the pre-national championship, CahorSauzet went, this Saturday evening, to the room of a team from Villefranche-de-Rouergue already assured of maintenance and currently second in the group.
Deprived for this match of Béthune and Abatan, the “yellow and blue” were on par with the Aveyronnais in the first quarter. Ahead after two minutes of play, thanks to Peltier and Dronjak (3 to 4), the Lotois were neck and neck with Villefranche during the first ten minutes. Despite losing ten balls in attack, the CSB, well present in defense and efficient at free throws (8 out of 8 in the first quarter), remained in the wake of Villefranchois (7 to 6, 3rd then 11 to 10, 5th) .
After ten minutes, the Lotois were trailing by three small points: 19 to 16.
The start of the second act confirmed the good first quarter of the Lotois, who, under the leadership of N’Gom, Prouillac and Lambert came back to match their hosts (21 to 21, 12th).
Still on the heels of the locals after fifteen minutes (27 to 24), the visitors then conceded a 15 to 5 in three minutes to find themselves trailing by thirteen lengths in the 18th: 42 to 29. Vain chase

Each time the Lotois came back a little, the Aveyronnais regained their distance and after thirty minutes, the CSB was still fourteen lengths behind: 70 to 56.
The Lotois continued to chase the score in the 4th quarter but despite the 18 points from Dronjak (CSB’s top scorer this Saturday), the locals managed to keep the visitors at bay.
Coming back to eight points three minutes from the end, the “yellow and blue” finally lost by thirteen points at the end of a match which leaves one with regrets.
