Jaden Edward Dhananjay Ivey (South Bend, Indiana, February 13, 2002) is an American basketball player who belongs to the Detroit Pistons of the NBA. At 1.93 meters tall, he plays shooting guard.

Ivey grew up playing football, basketball, and soccer and practicing karate. He began concentrating on basketball as a freshman in high school.[1]He played at Marian High School in Mishawaka, Indiana for his first three years.[2]For his senior year, he transferred to La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, joining one of the top programs in the country.[3]

Universidad[editar]

He played two seasons with the Boilermakers from Purdue University, in which he averaged 14.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.[4]in his season sophomore he averaged 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, earning him first-team All-Big Ten as well as second-team All-American honors.[5]

On March 31, 2022, he declared himself eligible for the 2022 NBA draft, forgoing his remaining college eligibility.[6]

He was chosen fifth in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.[7]

Personal life[editar]

His mother, Niele Ivey, is the head coach of the University of Notre Dame women’s basketball team.[8]She played in the WNBA for five seasons and was an All-American player at Notre Dame. Her father, Javin Hunter, played for the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. Her grandfather, James Hunter, also played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions.[1][9]
