IES La Orden ready to compete in the European Championship of badminton clubs

In a meeting held at the regional delegation for Education and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, the regional delegate, Estela Villalba, received the representatives of the Huelva team

The IES The Order ready to compete in European badminton club championship. After being proclaimed champion of Spain in the Liga Nacional de Clubs in the division of honor and qualifying for the European Club Championship, the volantista entity now has everything ready to travel to Poland and compete at the highest level. The Junta de Andalucía is one of the sponsors that will allow the entity to participate in the highest European competition for clubs in this sport.

In a meeting held at the regional delegation for Education and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, the territorial delegate, Estela Villalba, received the representatives of the Huelva team. The club president María Eugenia Lorenzo, the manager Ricardo Fernández, the technical director Francisco Ojeda, and the players Adrián Márquez, Eliezer Ojeda, Álvaro Morán and Karen Martín attended.

For Estela Villalba: “we are proud to help a team from Huelva and Andalusia to participate in the highest European competition in their sport. Badminton and Huelva are a successful combination, now it is the turn of the IES La Orden Badminton Club to represent us as the European Region of Sport that we continue to be and from the Junta de Andalucía we will always promote talent”.

María Eugenia Lorenzo, president of the Club, thanked the Junta de Andalucía and the other sponsors and collaborators for their support, and claimed the club as a benchmark club in Spain and Europe, proof of which are the seven national honor division titles and the good results of the quarry.

The competition format is mixed team matches with five games in qualifying groups that will allow access to the final draw. IES La Orden starts as the number two seed thanks to its classification in the 2019 European Championship, the last one before the pandemic, the competition venue Bialystock, Poland, from June 28 to July 2.
