FC Bayern: Leon Goretzka with an important message! It’s a serious matter – FC BAYERN MUNICH

This Bayern-Star repeatedly comments on topics outside of football.

On today’s World Blood Donor Day (Tuesday, June 14), Leon Goretzka (27), together with other athletes, public figures, associations, clubs and organizations, draws attention to the current emergency and the urgency of blood donations to save lives on social media.

The national player sends an important message in a press release from the blood donation service of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK).

Clear message from Bayern star Goretzka –
it’s a serious matter

Goretzka: “Anyone who donates blood also gives courage and life. Let’s work together to make sure we never run out of blood. Go out there, donate blood and save lives!”

The supply situation with vital blood preparations is currently very critical nationwide.

The effects of the corona pandemic, high temperatures, vacations, public holidays and a high volume of travel have been causing a decline in the willingness to donate for weeks. On the other hand, there is a high blood requirement in the clinics.

The aim of the nationwide campaign “#missingtype – you only notice it when it’s missing” is to encourage more people to donate and to keep them as long-term donors. It is organized by the DRK/BRK blood donation services.

Goretzka is also committed to important social issues outside of football. In 2020, during the Corona crisis, he founded the “We Kick Corona” initiative together with Joshua Kimmich, into which the two paid one million euros for social and charitable institutions. Other professional soccer players also took part in the initiative.
