Once everything was over, Fermín returned to his native Paraná and sport appeared there, something vital in his days. “The truth is that sport is health, it is incredible. Today is one of the axes in my life. And it arrives in rehabilitation because within everything they teach you to do in this matter of living again, they showed me basketball and tennis. When I returned here to Argentina in December of that year, I started in Cilsa because they had told me that there was a team and that’s where I started in 2019,” he said, adding: “I did not do conventional basketball except at school. I played team football and that’s what caught my attention the most, so I said I’m going to try it to see what happens and we got hooked”.

Today the man from Paraná plays the National League with Cilsa and is also a national team. Quite a player in a wheelchair. “We are playing the Argentine Wheelchair Basketball League. The first stage has already passed, which were the home runs that define the zones and now comes a pentagonal where the first of each zone qualify for the final playoffs. And with the national team we just won the South American Championship in December and now in July it’s the Copa América in San Pablo, which is the one that qualifies for the World Cup in November in Dubai. We work a lot and in the personnel too and luckily I am among the 12 who are going to the Copa América and now I am going to put him in to come out with everything”.
Another great space for your life is the Nodo gym where you and your teachers and classmates train and spend special evenings. “And here the truth is that we had a good time with Juan, it is incredible because there is a lot of good vibes and the atmosphere is very nice. That makes training more bearable. A lot of times, like today, it’s a cold day and out there you wrinkle a little, but here the good vibes help because we come and it’s very pleasant. For me it is a complement to the court, it is central to basketball. It helps me for the push, for the strength that I must have in the chair. This is vital to that.”

Finally, he closed talking about his sport: “For me, wheelchair basketball is, I get to say that it is an incredible sport. The truth is that I personally love it because it is very complex and with a lot of variants like the conventional one, but on a chair. It’s exciting and it’s very cute. I hope more people know about it.”
