Andrea Pirlo at the revival in Turkey

Italian Andrea Pirlo has signed a one-year contract to coach Fatih Karagümrük’s side, the Turkish Premier League club announced on Sunday. “Pirlo has signed a contract which makes him a member of Karagümrük for one year from July 1,” the Istanbul team said on Twitter, posting a photo of the 2006 Italian world champion in front of the club logo.

Ex-leader of Juve and AC Milan, Andrea Pirlo, 43, was dismissed at the end of May by Juventus Turin at the end of his very first season as a coach, marked by two titles (Italian Cup and Super Cup) but disappointments in the league and in the Champions League.

Istanbul-based Fatih Karagümrük finished 8th in the Turkish Super Lig in the 2021-2022 season.
