A lot of experience and a medal – Langenhagen

Judoka from VfB Langenhagen at the tournament in Elze

Finally it was time again! After two years of Corona, the Elzer Ascension Tournament took place again on the mat. Three judoka from VfB Langenhagen traveled to the south of Hanover to fight for certificates, medals and the best place on the podium.
First, Willem Thiemann was able to demonstrate his skills in the U11s. He got better from match to match and just lost in the last fight after time. Thus, Willem finished his first tournament in fourth place.
It was also the first tournament for Simon Herrmann in the U15s. He didn’t win a fight against much heavier opponents, but in the end it was enough for third place and a bronze medal.
Xena Schreiber went on a medal hunt in the U13. She showed a very good performance, especially on the floor, freed herself again and again and also used grabs herself. At the end of the tournament, she finished her group in fourth place.
Anyone who wants to compete on the mat is cordially invited to a taster session! Information on training times and offers can be found at www.vfb-langenhagen.de.
