Leidschendam-Voorburg – In order to draw extra attention to the physical and social benefits of exercise for the elderly, SenW, together with partners and associations, organizes activities that are part of the National Exercise Week for the Elderly of the National Elderly Fund.

In the week from 16 to 20 May, there will be exercise activities at various locations in which the elderly can participate – free of charge. There is a gym for the elderly, exercise for the elderly, Fifty Vitt table tennis, OldStars badminton and jeu de boule.

Movement is very important for body and mind, even when you get older it is very important to stay vital. There are fun and accessible activities for the elderly on a daily basis. On Monday 16 May there will be a gym for the elderly from 10.30-11.30 at the Duivenvoorde Service Center. On Tuesday 17 May there will be OldStars badminton from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. from Badmintonclub Orbiton at Sporthal Kastelenring and from 2-4 p.m. there is Jeu de Boule for the elderly who have difficulty walking at Grand Cru ’82 on Fluitpolderplein 1B in Leidschendam. On Wednesday 18 May there will be exercise for the elderly at 12:00-12:45, followed by free coffee at Mariënpark. On Thursday afternoon, May 19, the elderly can again play Jeu de Boulen from 2-4 p.m. at Grand Cru ’82. And on Friday 20 May there will be Fifty Vitt table tennis from 12.00-14.00 at table tennis association VVV and another gym for the elderly from 13:30 – 14:30 at neighborhood association Essesteijn.
