The world of sports is once again in mourning with the death of Rudy Fernández’s father. Rodolfo Fernandez has died at 66 years old after a long fight against illness.
The father of two of the best Spanish basketball players, Rudy and Marta Fernandez, was the instigator of his two sons dedicating themselves to the profession. Both have been international with the National Team, becoming Olympians and forming part of a golden generation. He also had a career in basketball playing for the Youth of Badalona and the Sant Josep Obrer.
Real Madrid, the team where Rudy plays, has wanted to join the mourning for his death through a statement. “Real Madrid CF, its president and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death of Rodolfo Fernández, father of our player Rudy Fernández”, he begins.
“Real Madrid wants to express its condolences and its love and affection to his wife, Maite, his children Rudy and Marta, and to all his relatives and loved ones,” he concluded.
