Scherzer will be out for six weeks

Mets starter Max Scherzer has a moderate to high internal strain in his left oblique.

The inconvenience will make the pitcher absent from the mound for between six and eight weeks, but everything will depend on his evolution, the club announced.

Due to this bad news, the New York franchise will be adjusted in terms of its rotation for the following games.

With deGrom gone, Scherzer had been the mainstay of the rotation. He entered Wednesday with a 4-1 record and a 2.66 ERA and just that day the pitcher began to feel uncomfortable when he faced the Cardinals.

The rest of the Mets’ rotation is made up of Chris Bassitt, Carlos Carrasco and Taijuan Walker, with David Peterson and Trevor Williams as other options.
