Arnautovic scores a brace for Inter

ÖFB team striker Marko Arnautovic scored his first brace for Inter Milan on Sunday in the last round of the Italian Serie A. The 35-year-old Viennese was allowed to play from the start for only the fifth time this season in the league in the 2:2 (2:2) draw with Hellas Verona – and thanked championship coach Simone Inzaghi with goals in the tenth minute and in stoppage time in the first half.

Arnautovic ended the league season with five goals, and Austria’s record international player was also successful in the Champions League twice. Inter’s 20th league title, Arnautovic’s second with Milan after 2009/10 when he was a young reserve, had already been secured since April. In the end, the “Nerazzurri” were a full 19 points ahead of their city rivals AC Milan.

The third team to be relegated after Salernitana and Sassuolo is Frosinone. The team from the Lazio region suffered a 0-1 defeat at home to Udinese in the last round. Empoli managed to avoid relegation in a heart-stopping finale with a 2-1 home win against AS Roma, secured by M’Baye Niang with a goal in injury time.
