NBA – Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks pulverize the Phoenix Suns and join the Warriors in the final in the West

Suns – Mavericks : 90-123

Dallas wins the series 4-3

Last year’s finalists both walked out on Sunday night. A few hours after the Celtics’ big victory against the Bucks (109-81), the Mavericks hit even harder by largely dominating the Suns (123-90) and Phoenix too! The Texas franchise qualifies there for its first Conference finals since 2011, the year when Dirk Nowitzki led it to its first title. Jason Kidd, the current coach of Dallas, was also part of the adventure.

The Mavericks are led by another generational talent today. Luka Doncic asserted himself as the best player in the series against the Suns and he dominated his opponents on the field again last night. He planted his first 3 attempts – including 2 award-winning baskets – to set the tone for the game. After 12 minutes, his team already had a 10-point lead (27-17). But the worst was yet to come for the Arizona franchise. Although playing at home, Monty Williams’ players took a slap in the second quarter. A 30-10 for a gap of 30 lengths at the break with only 27 points scored by Phoenix (57-27)! Doncic scored as much as the entire Suns team in the first half. Spencer Dinwiddie perfectly supported him with 21 points at the break and 30 in total.

The three Dallas creators – Doncic, Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson – compiled 89 of their team’s 123 points with 35, 30 and 24 pawns respectively. Opposite, no opposing player has scored more than… 12 units. A complete nongame at the worst possible time for the best team in the regular season. Chris Paul scored 10 points with 4 assists. Devin Booker went 12-3 of 14 on shots. The Suns have completely collapsed, to the point of being whistled by their own public. The Mavericks will therefore challenge the Warriors in the Conference Finals.
