Ligue 2: “We want to thank the team” … despite the disappointment, Paris FC fans will come en masse to Amiens

The supporters had been preparing for this trip to Amiens for months to “form the largest visitor parking lot in the history of Paris FC outside”. The date (penultimate day) gave hope for a joyous celebration with, in their most beautiful dreams, a rise in L1… Unfortunately for them, the collapse of Thierry Laurey’s team (only 10th in terms of points since the month of March), gives this match in Amiens a fairly limited sporting interest.

The only challenge is to try to pass Sochaux (4th with a 3-point lead) to have the advantage of receiving in the first play-off match on May 17. Despite everything, the Parisian supporters will be there at the Unicorn stadium which should be well stocked, the Amiens club having also decided to cut prices (5 euros instead).

Four full buses, at the expense of Paris FC, will leave from Charléty. Including those traveling individually, there will be over 300 PFC fans in the visitor lot. The record which dated from trips to Lens or a Red Star-Paris FC to Beauvais in April 2019 (around 150) will therefore be beaten.

“We believed in it but the dream collapsed in Toulouse”

“The team would have been better placed, there would have been more enthusiasm, we could easily have done 3 or 4 more coaches, recognizes Maxence, the spokesperson for Ultras Lutetia. We believed in it but the dream collapsed in Toulouse (2-1 defeat on April 2). Even if there is necessarily disappointment, we know where we come from. There is a taste of unfinished business but this season will remain, despite everything, as the club’s best in L2. We are very satisfied with what has happened this season in the stands and on the pitch. There has always been a good communion with the players, our massive presence in Amiens is also to thank them. »

Luca, one of the managers of the Old Clan joins him: “Of course the last results are not up to our season, but at home, nobody told me: I’m not coming, it’s no use anymore, explains who also manages the account Passion Paris FC. This is not the reasoning of an ultra or a loyal supporter. It was important to come in large numbers to thank the team. It makes us happy to make this big trip which will go down in the history of the club. »

“In number, he continues, it will be the biggest ever. We are attracting more and more people to the stands, it shows the progress and evolution of Paris FC. We thank the club for offering the buses. We are convinced that Paris FC will move up to L1 sooner or later, whether through the play-offs this season or directly next year. It is therefore important to create our history for the future. This move will help. Ordinary supporters who are not used to traveling as often as us will be able to discover and get to know this culture. »

Laurey is already planning on the dams

On the ground, on the side of Thierry Laurey, this match in Amiens will also be used to prepare for the play-offs. “We hope to scratch at least one place but we are also planning on the future, explains the coach. Without doing the grocers, we are also obliged to be in management to have all our vital forces and anticipate the playoff match(es). We had a lot of injuries, some need to get some playing time back. And since Mr. Paradis decided to give us free cards during the last game (1-1 against AV), inevitably, it weighs on us. »

“We have boys who can be suspended for the playoffs if they take a yellow against Amiens, adds the coach. We are therefore obliged to act accordingly. But Amiens and Grenoble will not be friendly matches. During these two games, I want to see things, find our defensive concentration in particular… ”
