Kökcü: ”The whole holiday time to make a decision”

Orkun Kökcü has been in the spotlight at various clubs from abroad. According to Football International AC Milan, SS Lazio, AS Roma and Wolverhampton Wanderers are especially concrete for the Feyenoord midfielder. The 21-year-old Kökcü is currently mainly focusing on European success with the Rotterdam team.

”I’m not looking beyond the final yet, but if I leave, hopefully with a prize, that’s what I’ve always wanted. But there is nothing yet,” says Kökcü in conversation with the weekly newspaper. “My father runs my business and I said to him: Do what you want, but leave me alone until after the final. After that, we will have the entire vacation to make a decision about my future. Apart from that, Feyenoord also has something to say. I’m under contract until 2025, I’m having a good time and I’m still getting better here.”

So the focus is first on the final. Everywhere Kökcü goes, it’s about the match against AS Roma. “Everyone in the Netherlands is involved in it in one way or another. Just not in Turkey yet. I don’t know what it is, but what I do or perform doesn’t get much attention there yet. I can’t even worry about it at the same time. If I calculate quickly, when we win the Conference League, I will be the only Turk to report to the national team for the Nations League matches with a European prize in my pocket.”
