The Judo “Sakura cup” tournament took place at Palavalentia. Organized by the Vibonese Martial School Asd and the Csen Vibo Valentia Provincial Committee, it was the first Judo competition ever organized by a Vibonese club. The response from Calabria was not long in coming. Almost all the Calabrian judo clubs participated from Castrovillari to Reggio Calabria. 160 athletes between 6 and 12 years old were present, with an entourage of technicians, referees and families that saw over a thousand people arrive in Vibo Valentia.
«We are happy with the result of the event ”, comments the president Roberto Bucca – because for the love of sport and children we have completed a tournament that saw the whole of Calabria on the Tatami. The compliments that we received during the event for the organization and systems make us proud and it is our duty to thank Callipo Sport which maintains the high level of Palavalentia. Proof that Vibo Valentia has the facilities and the potential to be second to none “. “Without underestimating the fact that – he adds – at the end of the event all the families stopped to admire the beauty of our city and the province, confirming that major sporting events are also important for the economic and social fabric of our territory” .
