Hamilton: “Monaco is like that, I’m not frustrated” – F1 Piloti – Formula 1

The weekend is valid for Monaco Grand Prix did not particularly smile at the Mercedes, once again struggling with porpoising both during the tests and the race. Despite these problems encountered in the Principality, however, George Russell’s satisfaction with 5th place remains, able to collect the ‘first position’ among the pursuers of Red Bull and Ferrari. However, the positive performance of the Briton was synonymous with a much more positive placement than that of his teammate Lewis Hamiltonsentenced to8th place final after an unsuccessful attack against theAlpine by Esteban Ocon – then penalized by 5 seconds – and Fernando Alonso.

As happened in other GPs before that of the Principality, the seven-time world champion was therefore unable to get the better of the former Williams driver, also failing to overtake the Spanish bi-world champion following the restart. for the accident of Mick Schumacher, which proved decisive for the box strategy: “You live, you learn and you go on, but honestly it wasn’t there nothing frustrating – number 44 explained – because these are things that can happen here in Munich. Once I got behind one of the Alpine riders, I knew it would be difficult to overtake them. I was hoping that the rain could provide more opportunities this weekend, but it didn’t. If I hadn’t been hindered by the Alpines, there probably would have been a different existence, and instead I stayed behind both of them ”.

In this way, Hamilton still does not appear among the top five in the world ranking reserved for drivers, with 50 points and a gap of 33 points that separate him from Carlos Sainz, and 34 from Russell.
