Haaland and Witsel wave goodbye to Dortmund with a win against Hertha Berlin | soccer germany

Borussia Dortmund is facing a real rebuilding this summer. A cartload of players will close the door of the Signal Iduna Park after this season.

For example, Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland officialized his monster transfer to Manchester City this week and Axel Witsel also announced earlier that his days in North Rhine-Westphalia are numbered.

The sentimental goodbye before the kick-off seemed to creep into the legs of the home team and old acquaintance Ishak Belfodil (ex-Standard) quickly provided the opening goal from the spot.

A mak Dortmund didn’t have an appropriate answer until the home team also got a penalty. Haaland scored the equalizer – with some luck – and brightened up his farewell with his 22nd goal of the season.

A final three-pointer, however, seemed out of the question for Dortmund until 17-year-old substitute Moukoko let the party break loose with a great goal from across the corner.

It is therefore no longer a secret that Haaland is heading towards the blue side of Manchester. It remains to be seen where the future of Red Devil Axel Witsel lies.
