General meeting of the JC Sakura: continuity and realignment – Hanover-Döhren-Wülfel-Mittelfeld

For more than six decades, the Judo Club Sakura e. V. from Hanover-Döhren is a “proven address” when it comes to mass sports and health-oriented training in the southern parts of the state capital and beyond.

As part of this year’s general meeting on May 22, 2022 in the sports hall of the Dietr.-Bonh.-Schule on Helmstedter Straße, the board had the opportunity to review the association’s activities for the reporting period since the last general meeting, a To give an outlook on future plans and to honor deserving members. And also very important: the elections to the various offices and functions.

In the report of the board of JC Sakura, the effects of the corona-related requirements were mentioned again. This included both the restrictions on training operations and other popular leisure activities that could not be carried out, e.g. B. summer festivals, Christmas parties and youth sports camps. The number of members has reduced in the “Corona period”, but still to a moderate extent in relation to other clubs. The martial arts club currently has almost 130 members, so there is a certain degree of continuity.

After the previous restrictions have been lifted, training is back to normal. The Tai Chi department was also actively represented at this year’s cherry blossom festival on the old Bult and was present in public at this special event with a demonstration.

The board explained that the digital reorientation at Sakura was continued. Thanks to new club software, progress has been made in terms of the efficiency of club tasks. In addition, the website (www.jc-sakura-hannover.de) was revised and the statutes of the association revised; During this general meeting, the new version was approved by the members present.

Among the members who were honored because of a special or “round” birthday and/or a membership that has now lasted for decades, founding member Helmut Fuchs should be mentioned, who celebrated his 80th birthday in the reporting period and was a member of the association for 60 years. Special thanks were also expressed for the years of commitment of previous board members.

The elections for the honorary tasks to be assigned went smoothly: the positions for the board of directors, the honorary council and the cash auditors were all filled again, so there is continuity here too. I wish the new officers good luck and every success in their activities!

The JC Sakura e. V. is happy to welcome interested parties who would like to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of martial arts: Judo, Aikido, Ju-Jutsu and Tai Chi – “curious” are welcome.
