Games for all tastes at the Roger-Salengro park, in Nevers, Saturday May 28

“Every last Saturday of May, everywhere in the world, it’s the feast of the game. In Nevers, we called the event “Fait du jeu”, because our objective is to promote the practice of the game”, explains David Demoulin, president of the Conservatoire du jeu. So expect to play, Saturday, May 28, on the dozen stands that will be installed at the bottom of the Roger-Salengro park, in Nevers.

“There will be something for everyone, all registers will be represented”, assures David Demoulin. The Game Conservatory will provide around sixty traditional games and around one hundred board games. “Wooden games are always very popular, they are intergenerational. For games of skill, age no longer counts”, he underlines.

As for those nostalgic for video games, they should find what they are looking for on the stand of the retro-gaming association Manette Génération (Jouet-sur-l’Aubois). Other structures will be involved, including the toy library of the Vertpré social center in Nevers, associations for role-playing games, card games and figurines, etc. “Christophe Leclercq who got published with his game Crystal Globewill come to present it and have it tested”, adds the president.

Make the game accessible to everyone

Among the highlights of the afternoon: games of Kyudo, a great competition allowing everyone to show their mastery of archery… This is one of the latest among the “roll and write” games. According to the result of the dice, the players take an action. “The” roll and write “did not exist before the Covid, it has been democratized for a year. These are giant parts”, he recalls.

While waiting for Saturday, the Conservatory of the game “is impatient”: “This is our first “big” event since 2020″, underlines David Demoulin. “This edition was more difficult to organize, it is 100% funded by the association. We have lost 85% of our members, we are only 17 members this year. But we wanted to defend it tooth and nail” .

Despite running out of cash, free admission for exhibitors and the public has been maintained: “We want to restart the machine. And invite people to come and play together. It’s also important to bring community life to life in the town”, recalls David Demoulin. On your marks, get set, play!

Practice. Saturday May 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the bottom of the Roger-Salengro park in Nevers. Free. 06.50.72.27.85. [email protected]
