Fernanda González won the gold in the Judo Championship – El Sol de Parral

Obtaining six medals, including one gold with Fernanda González, a great performance was achieved by the contingent of Parralenses who were present at the 2022 Tomoyoshi Yamagushi National Children’s Judo Championship, which took place last weekend at the facilities of the Galeana Brothers Sports Center in Mexico City.

With this, for one more occasion the athletes of this difficult contact sports discipline, put very high the name of their dojo, Parral and the state of Chihuahua, since this tournament is of a high quality of competition.

It is noteworthy that this tournament is the first selective event for the Pan American Championship, in the sub-13 and sub-15 categories, of which the first two places in the national ranking will be endorsed, in each division.

Also, it should be mentioned that the championship brought together around 250 competitors, from 20 states of the Republic, to mention a few and that they have a very strong level, Nuevo León, Baja California, Jalisco and Tamaulipas, in the pre infant, infant “A” and infant “B”.

In this sense, 13 athletes from the Judo Kan Parral and Judo González dojos were present from the state of Chihuahua, in the sub-15, sub-13 categories, as well as in 9-10 years, in addition to 25 competitors from Ciudad Juárez.

Within the results of the Parralenses competitors we have that in the sub-15 category, Fernanda González in the 48 kilos division, won the gold medal; the silvers went to Camila Serrano in sub-15 in the 64-kilo division and in the 9 and 10-year-old category, José Manuel Morería in the over 35-kilo division.

While the three bronzes were all obtained in the sub-13 category, David Villegas in the 34-kilogram division; Danna Galaz in the 52-kilogram division and David Domínguez in the 52-plus kilogram division.

Also attending this national event in the capital of the world were the judokas, Mateo Rincón, Victoria Sauceda, Eduardo Candía, Fernando Soto, Camila Navarrete, Cesar Moreno, Amín Corral and Axel Jurado Mares, all of them directed by the sensei, José Andrés Martínez and Gabriel Gonzalez.

Note: It should be noted that the competitors, Fernanda González and Camila Serrano, are part of the national preselection to attend the Pan American Children’s Championship, which will take place in Panama (to be confirmed).
