Eintracht Frankfurt – Gladbach: back message from Felix Zwayer – Bundesliga

The Euro party at Eintracht continues!

Three days after the sensational entry into the final of the Europa League on May 18 in Seville against Glasgow Rangers, Frankfurt played 1-1 against Gladbach. Nevertheless, there is a huge party atmosphere in the stadium.

Even before the game, the Eintracht fans send a clear message to their final stars with a giant poster: “Today it doesn’t matter – bring us the trophy!” The Frankfurters should apparently take it easy and just not get injured before the club’s first Euro final since 1980.

In any case, only three stars from Thursday’s win against West Ham (1-0) are there. Goalkeeper Trapp, Ndicka and Tuta. Six regular players are not even in the squad: the injured Hinteregger, Lindström, Rode, Jakic, Borré and Touré.

Referee Zwayer plays with an unusual blue shirt. Names are printed on the back. What’s behind it: These are 63 referees who have been honored by the DFB for decades of commitment as part of the “Thank you referee” campaign. Their names are shown as representative of all amateur referees.

Frankfurt’s start, however, goes haywire! Laimer puts across the penalty area — and Plea makes it 0: 1 in the 4th minute.

By the way, Trapp is in a new gate because the box was bent during the storming of the square on Thursday…

And what are the Eintracht fans doing? They sing and party. Nothing matters today!

With the guests, Sippel stands in for regular keeper Sommer in goal. Gladbach coach Hütter, who is returning to the Frankfurt stadium as an opponent for the first time, before the game on DAZN: “Tobias is very important to our team. He chose this game because he knows Kevin Trapp well.”

Curious scene: Hofmann shoots at Barkok, the ball bounces back with a bang – straight into the Gladbacher’s face! He staggers and falls to the ground. But can keep playing.

51. Minute: Best chance for Frankfurt! Plea clears the Ilsanker shot with a knee and thigh on the line.

65. Minute: What a hammer from Paciencia! He hits it from 22 meters, Sippel throws his arms up in vain. The 1:1!

71. Minute: Hasebe clears an Embolo shot down the line. Mega Rescue Action!

74. Minute: Shock moment for Eintracht! Trapp injured his right hand after a net shot during the parade and had to be treated. His wrist, which is already thickly bandaged with tape, is stabilized even more. Back-up Grahl is already getting ready outside. But Trapp goes on.

78. Minute: Great save by Trapp after Friedrich-Header-Hammer – with his battered hand!

90. Minute: Kamada scores — but is caught offside!
