CONAFE EDOMÉX PARTICIPATES IN CHILDREN’S KNOWLEDGE OLYMPICS

Nearly 400 students from CONAFE – State of Mexico participated in the Children’s Knowledge Olympiad

Toluca, Mexico. May 23, 2022.- About 400 students from the National Council for Educational Development (Conafe) in the State of Mexico, participated in the first stage of the Children’s Knowledge Olympiad 2022, of which 82 students were selected who applied exams during the second regional stage that culminated the last May 20.

This was reported by the Territorial Coordinator for Conafe Educational Services in the entity, Berenice Olmos Sánchez, who highlighted the importance of promoting student participation in these activities called by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) in order to help raise the quality of the National Educational System, as well as stimulating maximum academic achievement among students.

He highlighted that a previous stage was carried out in which the participation of level 3 students from the entire CONAFE State of Mexico was promoted, later the exams of the first stage were applied by school zone, in which 375 students from the venues participated. : Villa Guerrero, Texcaltitlán, Tejupilco, Luvianos, Amatepec, Circos, Valley of Mexico, Chapa de Mota, Atlacomulco, Toluca and Amanalco.

The foregoing, he said, was developed with the consent of fathers and mothers of families who were informed of the call, its stages, subjects that are taken into account for the exams: Spanish, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, History and Geography, transparency with which each stage is executed, as well as the benefits for those students who reach the final stage of this call.

He explained that of the 82 participants in the second stage, the 15 highest averages that will participate in the third state stage whose development is contemplated from May 23 to June 15 are selected proportionally and transparently.

In addition, Berenice Olmos indicated that the students who reach the state stage are also those who are tutoring their other classmates or members of the learning community within the ABCD Model (Learning Based on Collaboration and Dialogue), as well as highlighting in their public demonstrations, Learning Process Records (RPA), unit products and Mentor Relationship.

The federal official reported that the development of the three phases is the responsibility of the state educational authorities, the AEFCM and the Conafe, who monitor that the evaluation and selection procedures are carried out properly and under the criteria of proportionality and equity.

In the last phase, the SEP will be the body responsible for formulating, applying and qualifying the evaluation instruments; will define the selection criteria; will report the results to the respective school communities, and will establish the type and number of prizes for each stage.

Finally, he indicated that of these 15 participants with the highest average, in the final stage 3 students will be chosen who will be the beneficiaries who will receive a certificate that certifies them as winners of the 2022 Children’s Knowledge Olympiad, and a scholarship of one thousand pesos per month. by the Bancomer Foundation, during each of the 10 months of the next three school cycles of secondary education, the publication of the final results will take place on June 24.
