The Bonn Capitals also got the upper hand in game two of the double header in the 1st Baseball Bundesliga North in the summit meeting against the Untouchables Paderborn on Sunday. Bonn scored two runs each in the sixth and eighth innings to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-3 win. Game one went 9:5 to the still undefeated first team.

At least at the beginning of the game Paderborn looked like they could end the unbeaten run of the Capitals. Luca Rammelmann brought Maurice Bendrien home with a sac fly in the first half of the game. After Bonn equalized with Daniel Lamb-Hunt’s solo home run in the fourth, the Untouchables regained the lead through Phildrick Llewellyn’s RBI single in the fifth inning.

But again, it was Daniel Lamb-Hunt who put the Capitals back in the game with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. The Caps had turned the score to 3:2 in the meantime. An RBI single from Daniel Sanchez and a sac fly from Justus Recki sent the score to 5-2 in the eighth inning. Paderborn reduced the lead to 3:5 in the last round after an RBI single from Llewellyn. But it wasn’t enough for more.
