Venezuelan spy posing as soccer coach in Colombia

Since last year, Colombia has been alerted about the possible presence of Venezuelan spies in the national territory. Although some sectors dismissed these complaints, the authorities confirmed this week that a Venezuelan spy was discovered and deported in Antioquia territory.

According to exclusive information from Noticias RCN, Jeiker Valencia Sánchez, also known by the alias ‘El gato’, was deported after being discovered carrying out espionage work in Urabá, Antioquia.

The records of the authorities indicate that ‘El gato’ entered Colombia in 2018, since that year he was in Córdoba, Bogotá, Norte de Santander and the eastern plains, however, his espionage activities would have been carried out from Urabá.

According to the statements of members of intelligence in Colombia, the subject pretended to be a soccer coach to be able to enter Army and Police facilities, to take photographs, which were discovered at the time of his apprehension.
