The regular season of the U17 championship of Excellence (Calabria-Sicily grouping) is about to end, with the short start of the second phase that will involve the first three teams classified in their respective groups.
Pallacanestro Viola Reggio Calabria will be the only Calabrian club that will take part in this clock phase whose conclusion will crown the team that will take part in the national phases.
The U / 17 championship of Excellence sees the presence of corporate groups that historically operate in the youth sector and that over the years have allocated important economic resources to the project with the use of athletes also from outside the EU. Purple Basketball has only recently begun its programming on the youth sector (first match played in the 2020/2021 school year) and despite the novelty character it has been able to hit this important goal thanks also to a special alchemy among the technical staff the company staff and a group of parents who, in addition to being fervent fans, have never lacked support and support in the operational phases. In the last game of the regular season as already highlighted on our pages, the clear victory against the second force of the championship, Pallacanestro Savio Messina. The boys led by the coaches Mod Affari and D’Agostino and by the physical trainer Santo Vazzana are preparing to face the second phase, aware of the extremely challenging commitment that awaits them.
The same commitment will go to the “Orange” team of Purple Basketball which took part in the U / 19 Silver championship (to maximize the minutes of play for its athletes, the company has enrolled two different teams in this championship) which at the end of the month will take ‘participates in the regional playoffs (in which the first two teams of each single group will participate).
Whoever wins the Play-offs will subsequently take part in the Sicily-Calabria-Friuli Venezia Giulia concentration for access, also in this case, to the national phase of the relative championship.
