Alpine skiing: the athletes of the Jura Giron end the season in style

In verve throughout the winter, the skiers of the Jura Giron responded to their final races of the season. In Les Diablerets, on the occasion of the championships of the “Ski Romand” association, Justine Herzog (SC Chasseral Dombresson) won in slalom in the under-16s.

Brilliant fifth at La Scara, Eliott Ducommun (SC Chasseral Dombresson) continued his momentum. The Vaudruzien finished second in slalom and giant in the under-14 category.

Kai Odot (SC Chasseral Dombresson, M16) placed fourth in the giant slalom and fifth in the slalom. Lina Meier (SC Biel M16) distinguished herself by finishing twice in fourth place. Thibaut Muller (SC Chasseral Dombresson, M14) showed consistency by taking sixth and fifth place. Finally, Odélie Wermeille (SC La Sagne, M12) finished fourth in giant. / COMM FCH


Running: Julia and Christian Fatton tame the 100 km of Périgord Noir

Never stingy with challenges, Vallonniers Julia and Christian Fatton took part in the 100 km of Périgord Noir. This race served as the French championship over this distance.

At Belvès, Julia Fatton finished fourth in her category in 9h40’20” and Christian Fatton was third in 9h48’54”. COMM FCH


Orienteering: two podiums for Inès Berger in Bremgarten

Bremgarten (BE) welcomed the best orienteers this weekend of April 9 and 10 for two national races. On the menu: a medium distance race on Saturday and a sprint on Sunday. The Sunday event was contested in a particular format among the elites, with a qualifying race in the morning and elimination races in the afternoon.

Three members of the Neuchâtel Orienteering Association (Anco) passed the qualification mark: Pascal Buchs, Archibald Sohuel and Guillaume Wyrsch. The last named was eliminated in the quarter-finals while Pascal Buchs and Archibald Soguel were taken out in the semi-finals. The final was won by Matthias Kyburz. Among the ladies, Elena Ross from Ticino won.

In the junior categories, Inès Berger (M20) did well. She was twice in second place. Justine Hamel (D18) took third place in the sprint event.

Among the seniors, the residents of the Anco particularly distinguished themselves in the sprint. Marc Lauenstein (+40 years old) won the event while Jean-Claude Guyot (+70 years old) finished in second place. / COMM FCH


Volleyball: the Neuchâtel women’s selection vice-champion of Switzerland

On the weekend of April 9 and 10, the city of Glarus hosted the finals of the Swiss regional selection championships. Coached by Alex Prunonosa and Nicole Delley, the Neuchâtel players (born in 2007 or later) won a fine silver medal. Tanaïs Camélique had the honor of being elected MVP of the competition.

Badminton: Lucie Amiguet on the podium in France

Lucie Amiguet has long teeth and continues to prove it. In France, during the Alpes international 2022, the thin racket of BC La Chaux-de-Fonds climbed on the third of the podium in singles among the under 19s.

Tchoukball: the national cream will meet in La Chaux-de-Fonds

The best of Swiss tchoukball will meet in La Chaux-de-Fonds on Saturday 23 April. The semi-finals and the final of the Swiss Cup at the Halle Volta.

The Beehives of La Chaux-de-Fonds will face the Geneva Dragonds. The other semi-final will pit the Val-de-Ruz Flyers against the Nyon Lakers. /COMM FCH


Swimming: Red-Fish swimmers shine on the international scene

A prosperous weekend for the Red-Fish Neuchâtel (RFN). The swimmers of the Neuchâtel club have distinguished themselves both nationally and internationally.

Present at the Junior Multinations in Kranj (Slovenia) with the national team, Ilan Gagnebin and Dario Marcone managed to stand out. The first named won two butterfly medals. He snatched silver in the 50m (24.76) and bronze in the 100m (54.81). In Slovenia, Dario Marcone managed a good 200m backstroke and finished eleventh in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

Competing in Limassol (Cyprus) for the Youth Multinations, Manon Richard has once again demonstrated the extent of her talent. The 14-year-old swimmer finished third in the 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly.

In the Swiss pools, the people of Neuchâtel shone in the final of the Swimming Hopes Cup in Yverdon. Thaline Beljean (15) finished second in the 200m medley and third in the 400m freestyle. Alena Eggen (15) won the 100m breaststroke and Ekaterina Vorobyova (15) won the 100m Butterfly.

Finally, Loane Richard (13) also won the 100m butterfly in her age category.

In Yverdon, residents of the La Chaux-de-Fonds swimming club (CNCF) have achieved good results. Jonathan Schmidt was third in the 100 breaststroke and Niall was fourth in the 100 freestyle. / COMM FCH


Triathlon: Naël Gumy third in Wallisellen

The first national competition of the triathlon season took place this Sunday, April 10. The only Red-Fish Neuchâtel representative involved, Naël Gumy finished third in the 14-15 year old category.

First at the end of the swimming test, the Neuchâtel resident dropped a little ballast on his bike. Thanks to an excellent run, Naël Gumy was able to secure his place on the podium. / COMM FCH
