Klopp once again highlights Díaz’s joy before the Champions League

Liverpool have their quarter-final series on track of Champions League against Benfica thanks to the outstanding performance of Luis Díaz at the Da Luz Stadium, where he finished with the highest score thanks to an assist and a goal for the 1-3 in favor of the English club.

The Reds close this key at home this Wednesday, April 13 from 2:00 pm (Colombian time), seeking to defend the advantage obtained in Portugal to advance to the semifinals, and in the press conference prior to the commitment at Anfield, Jürgen Klopp praised Luis Díaz again and the joy he expresses during the work with Liverpool.

“He can’t stop smiling in training. I’m not sure I’ve seen someone like that before, always smiling. We didn’t know how quickly it would adapt. All the players we have signed in recent years are happy. This is not the worst place in the world. The fact that he really enjoys training is great!”, commented the German coach.

One of the Reds’ advantages at this point in the season is having a broad squad that Diaz has helped grow since his arrival, so Klopp added: “We have five changes in this competition. We have to keep our performance levels high and that is only possible with the changes. We’ve had 50 games in our legs in April.”

More great games for Liverpool

After the 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium which maintains the advantage of a point in favor of Manchester City in the fight for the Premier League title, Liverpool focuses on this second leg to ensure qualification, which, if achieved, he would face him in the next phase against the winner between Bayern Munich and Villarreal, although with his sights set on the weekend, as he will once again face Pep Guardiola’s team for the FA Cup semi-final.

Liverpool’s schedule remains demanding, since after that semi-final against City he will have a classic against Manchester United and the derby against Everton at Anfield. After those games it would be the first leg of the Champions League semifinal, in case of accessing it.
