Merseyside Police announced on Sunday that an investigation had been opened following the incident involving Cristiano Ronaldo during the Premier League match between Manchester United and Everton on Saturday (1-0). The 37-year-old Portuguese dropped a fan’s phone at the end of the game, the Red Devils striker later apologized for his bad gesture on social media.
“Merseyside Police can confirm they are investigating an incident during the Everton-Manchester United game at Goodison Park involving a player as he left the pitch. She will speak to all parties involved”explained the British authorities on Twitter.
