The 27-year-old figure did play for one of the League 1 clubs, Persela Lamongan. However, he did not last long in Indonesia. Less than half a season, Nakamura was immediately removed from the team.

Even so, Shunsuke Nakamura admits that the cost of living in Indonesia is very cheap. Eating food that is sold outside the home is relatively cheap. He told this when interviewing a new PSIS Semarang player, Taisei Marukawa.
“How’s your food there?” Nakamura asked Taisei Marukawa on his personal YouTube channel. “I played in one place for a long time because of Covid. So the food is all prepared,” Taisei replied.

“If I was before Covid, I would cook myself or eat out. The cost of living there is cheap, so I often eat out. Indonesia has a low cost of living and a high salary,” he explained.
Nakamura himself did not actually have time to play in League 1 because Persela was dropped. He was dropped before player registration closed in Liga 1 2020.
Marukawa Instead Be The Best in League 1

Unlike Nakamura, who failed to play in the first tier of Indonesian football, Taisei Marukawa actually became the best. He has just been named the 2021-22 Liga 1 player of the year.
Nakamura also revealed that in fact Marukawa almost didn’t play soccer. Because he was offered a job at a football company.
“He didn’t even take a job at a big company to challenge to play football. Now the salary is equivalent to a top J1 League player. Net salary. I know the salaries of Urawa Reds players. Totally on par with Urawa Reds players,” said Nakamura.
