Foxes, regional basketball champions – El Mexicano

TIJUANA- Los Zorros del Cetys Universidad advanced to the National stage of the CONDDE 2022 Universiade in both the women’s and men’s categories, being the undisputed regional champions by winning all their matches in the regional elimination phase held in the city of Tijuana , Lower California.

The pupils of coach Carlos Arenas began their triumphs when they faced the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, leaving the score 90-50, to later play against Universidad Lasalle Noroeste (Sonora), whom they defeated 107 points to 49.

The next day, the confrontation against the Technological Institute of Sonora ended 101 to 68 in favor of Cetys and to end the day the Foxes won 99-50 against Cimarrones de la UABC, obtaining their pass to the National Championship undefeated and being crowned Regional Champions.

For the women’s squad led by César Valencia, the activity began against the representative of ITSON, whom they beat 77-60, to later face UABC, with the score favorable to CETYS 81 points to 42.

The UAS finished the match with 35 points against the 95 of the young women from Zorros, who to close their commitments, won the match against TEC Campus Sonora Norte 74 points to 46 and thus got their pass to the National stage of the Universiade CONDDE 2022 (AMS)
