NBA: Luka Doncic still in the team of the year, Wembanyama and Gobert absent from the best 15

Winner with Dallas of Game 1 of the Western Conference final in Minnesota on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, Luka Doncic also had his 5th consecutive selection in the number 1 team, a panel of journalists and broadcasters voting for 15 players divided into three teams.

The Slovenian shares the number 1 team with Serbian MVP Nikola Jokic (Denver), Oklahoma City leader Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee) and Jayson Tatum, engaged in the final in the East with Boston Celtics. LeBron James was honored on the third team, his record 20th such honor.

The French Rudy Gobert (Minnesota), already named “best defender of the year” and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio), named “rookie of the year”, received 12 and 11 points respectively (the last selected from the team 3 had 70), without managing to slip into this annual selection of the best players of the regular season.

The Frenchies can console themselves, being part of the first “defensive” team in the NBA, alongside Bam Adebayo (Miami), Anthony Davis (Lakers) and Herbert Jones (Pelicans).

Team number 2 consists of Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Anthony Davis (Lakers), Kevin Durant (Phoenix), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota) and Kawhi Leonard (Clippers).

On team 3, we find Devin Booker (Phoenix), Stephen Curry (Golden State), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana), Lebron James (Lakers) and Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento).
