Clock stolen from Leclerc is a rare piece, it can be worth 2 million – Ultima Ora

(ANSA) – VIAREGGIO (LUCCA), APRIL 20 – The watch snatched from Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc on Monday evening, on Easter Monday, in a street of the Viareggio Darsena (Lucca) is a unique piece. According to what emerges from the inventory of the investigations, it is a Richard Mille Rm 67-02, a luxury chronograph to which it is impracticable to give a real value, however a prototype of the watch stolen from Leclerc was sold at auction in 2021 for about 2 million Swiss francs, almost two million euros at today’s values.

The carabinieri are proceeding with the investigations, also viewing the cameras in the area where the theft took place. Leclerc was taking pictures with some fans and thieves were among them. Among the various versions under consideration, there is that the authors fled on a scooter and that the same driver, with his road Ferrari, also tried to chase them. The criminals have disappeared between dirt roads that lead into the nearby Ponente pine forest. The theft took place around 11 pm and aroused the controversy of residents and traders over the safety of the dock, given that the street where Leclerc was attacked has been in the dark for months despite the reports made to the Municipality to restore adequate public lighting.
