The Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, was awarded the honorary judo black belt for « dedication, discipline and commitment” in promoting sport.
The ceremony yesterday at the ministry where Marius Vizer, president of the World Judo Federation, awarded the minister the recognition.
Also present were the president of the Fijlkam judo sector, Colonel Giuseppe Matera, the head of protocol of the IJF, Antonio Ernesto, the singer Al Bano Carrisi, ambassador of the international federation for whom he also composed the anthem and Max Hervè George, IJF sponsor partner.
«I am honored and moved by this recognition – said Giorgetti – especially since sport, in general, is not only a passion for me, but also a fundamental value».
