The blue adventure at the European Championships in Madrid ends with the two pairs of women’s doubles stopped in the round of 16.
The two couples both had an excellent match. In fact, Yasmine Hamza and Katharina Fink fought on an equal footing with the Germans Linda Efler and Isabel Lohau, seeded number four in the seeding, victorious in two sets (21-15; 21-17).
“It was a good match – Hamza and Fink say with a smile – we played well, often putting the strong opponents in difficulty. In some moments we have been at the same level and this gives us hope for the future ”.
Good match also for Judith Mair and Martina Corsini who were overcome in two sets (21-11; 21-14) by the Danes Magelund and Ravn, seeded number three on the draw.
“We knew that the match was very complicated – the words of Corsini and Mair – because our opponents are very strong and are certainly candidates for the conquest of a medal. However, we took the field to play our game which in some moments was also very effective. We must acquire greater continuity in keeping the level of play high and we are working towards this goal “.
