VfB Stuttgart: After a dispute – folders beat Gladbach fans – Bundesliga

Incredible scenes overshadow the first VfB victory (3: 2) in 2022.

Shortly after the final whistle of the game, there were arguments in the Gladbach guest block between Borussia fans and stewards of the SDS security service, there were several injuries.

An Internet video shows how folders beat fans who obviously want to leave the guest block. A folder loses control completely and brutally hits a lonely and defenseless man from Gladbach several times.

Only after several severe blows to the head is the folder withdrawn by colleagues. Meanwhile, other folders continue to hit the fans.

A spokesman for the Stuttgart police said about the trigger for the escalation to BILD: “According to the current state of knowledge, a cup thrown in the guest block triggered the use of the security guards. We don’t know anything else at the moment. We are further investigating the incident.”

Fanhilfe Mönchengladbach circulated the video of the incident, explaining the attack: “This was preceded by a dispute between two fans, after which the folders wanted to push those involved out of the block. Even then, they acted disproportionately hard before the violence escalated completely without cause and unilaterally.”

The security service at VfB home games is not hired directly by the club, but by Arena-Betriebs GmbH.

VfB Stuttgart condemns the incident: “VfB Stuttgart distances itself from the violence that can be seen in a video distributed on the Internet. The collection of image material and testimonies from both fans and security staff began on Saturday evening. Both clubs are in contact, view the material and will work through the processes together.”
