Basketball. Operated on the cruciate ligaments of her two knees, Léa Cléret is a model of perseverance

At only 20 years old, Léa Cléret is certainly a model to follow. Operated on the cruciate ligaments of each of her knees, the 1.67m young girl is gradually returning to her best level.

“I was 16 when the right knee was operated on, and a shock got the better of the left at the end of 2019,” she sighs, showing her two scars. “The problem is that with the covid epidemic, the second operation was postponed several times, and I went two years without playing, I only resumed last September”, says- she.

“Two years without playing”

However, the young student in license AES (Economic and Social Administration) did not give up. Proof was made, Sunday afternoon, in front of Montfort (59-62). Léa Cléret was well on her feet and even equalized at 55-55 with a sublime winning shot.

“Well, it’s still a defeat, but we lost 20 points in the first leg, it shows the progress and the good cohesion of the team”, assures the playmaker from Langueus, obviously more comfortable on the wing Sunday. “It’s true that I play more liberated in this position, it comes from the fact that it’s not long since I took over”, smiles the former protege of Yoann Cabioc’h in U15.
