Apple TV+ lands on the sports rights market with MLB

Apple TV+ will get into sports for the first time. The American giant announced, during its March 8 conference orchestrated by its boss Tim Cook, a partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB).

Apple TV + will therefore broadcast two live games every Friday exclusively, as well as pre- and post-game shows, “Friday Night Baseball”, available in eight countries (United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the United Kingdom) at the start of the regular season.

MLB in full lockdown

North American fans (United States and Canada) will also be able to watch the matches in replay as well as exclusive content from the MLB. On the price side, the MLB will be included in the subscription of Apple TV + ” for a limited time “. The company leaves itself the possibility of adding paid options to its subscription.

For now, the 2022 MLB season has not started due to a lockout related to negotiations between franchise owners and players to sign a new collective agreement.
