“The best case has occurred”

Good news for FC Bayern and especially for Alphonso Davies. The comeback of the 21-year-old Canadian is getting closer and closer. As Julian Nagelsmann revealed on Saturday, the left-back is on the right track.

In the past few weeks, numerous “horror reports” have been circulating about Alphonso Davies and his uncertain downtime. According to reports, the defender was threatened with a months-long forced break. In the meantime there was even talk of a complete end of the season. Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann has now given an update on Davies and it sounds very promising: “Fortunately, he is on the road to recovery. It’s going to take a while longer. But the dangerous markers of the heart have almost disappeared.”

“There are still one or two things that still need a little time”

The 21-year-old defender was diagnosed with heart muscle inflammation in mid-January. According to Nagelsmann, however, the rehab went ideally: “There are still one or two things that still need a little time. There is another check-up appointment in two weeks. The best case has occurred as far as the healing process is concerned.”

If all continues according to plan, Davies could return to the pitch at the end of February.
