RVS / LU does not enter the semifinals of the Baltic Women’s Volleyball League

“Riga Volleyball School” / “University of Latvia” (RVS / LU) on Sunday failed in the third game of the quarterfinals of the Baltic Women’s Volleyball League without entering the semi-finals. RVS / LU lost to Tartu TU / Bigbank volleyball players with 0-3 (23:25, 15:25, 8:25) away.

Adelīna Gerliņa scored nine points in the Riga team, while Kristīne Kramēna added six points, and Lāsma Ozola and Katrīna Ķetlere scored five more points. Ingrida Kīska scored 19 points in the Tartu team. The Tartu team succeeded in the series with up to two victories, winning 2-1. The Rigan woman was able to win only the first match on her field, beating her opponents 3-1.

Volleyball players from Tallinn University / Kikas, Jonava Aušrine-KKSC and Kaunas ASU have also already taken part in the semi-finals. Five teams from Estonia, four from Latvia and three from Lithuania are playing in the Baltic League this season. Latvia is represented in this Baltic League season by “Riga Volleyball School” / “University of Latvia” (RVS / LU), “Riga Stradins University” / “Minus Volleyball School” (RSU / MVS), “Jelgava” and “Sports and Physical Development Club” / “Daugavpils University” (SuFA / DU).

Last season, Tallinn’s TalTech / Tradehouse volleyball players were crowned champions, beating RVS / LU 3-0 in the final. The Jelgava team won the Latvian championship.
