The Office Center has ‘liquidity problems’ due to the corona crisis, Groningen reports. A WHOA process has now started. The WHOA helps companies that are in danger of going bankrupt due to large debts. The situation causes Groningen a loss of one million euros.
“This is very annoying and worrisome, both for FC Groningen and for Office Center and its employees,” says general manager Wouter Gudde van Groningen on the club site. “We can now only wait for the course and the results of the WHOA process. This creates a very uncertain situation. We cannot say more about it or go into more detail at the moment. We must refer to Office Center for this. “
Office Center was taken over by another party last year and has since embarked on a new course. There was no room left for the main sponsorship. The company will leave Groningen as the main sponsor of Groningen in the summer of 2023.
Office Center cannot fulfill its contractual agreements with FC Groningen. There is a risk of financial damage of one million euros over the current season.
