FC Bayern Munich: The truth about Oliver Kahn’s defensive breakout! – Soccer

The Titan has spoken!

Bayern boss Oliver Kahn (52) did not like the swatter in Bochum (4: 2).

The Bayern boss on Monday at the meeting in Munich: “The players know that a first half like in Bochum is not acceptable. Because we simply fell far short of our potential.”

The board boss: “If you lose big, the topic of mentality is always brought into play relatively quickly. Not only in this season, but also in previous seasons, we lack a lot defensively in the backward movement and also in the work against the ball. We concede too many goals!”

Kahn continues: “That’s something we have to start with: that we have to work with more discipline and passion against the ball again. Otherwise, mistakes will be punished immediately and mercilessly – and even more internationally.”

In the new edition of “Stammplatz”, the daily football podcast from BILD, host André Albers asked reporter Christian Falk about the reasons for Kahn’s plain text announcement.

The Bayern insider: “It was quiet around Oliver Kahn for a long time, too quiet. But now it’s here, the volcano – and it’s erupting. I think this is a deliberate breakout. He used to like to romp spontaneously on the pitch. Such statements as now against the Bayern defense are of course strategy. He thought these words out carefully. Mentality, that used to be exactly his topic. That’s not enough for him at the moment. It demands passion and discipline. It was a targeted attack to wake up the team.”

Also topic in the new “Stammplatz” episode:

► the ailing Hertha! Carsten Priefer has been with the club since 1997 (!) as a reporter and makes a frightening prognosis: “Hertha will end up in 16th place at the end of the season and that means relegation.” It went wrong once (2012 against Düsseldorf).

► Nils Petersen (33)! The Freiburg striker is associated with 1. FC Köln.

► Werder Bremen! Host André Albers really gets into raptures when looking at the current situation at his heart club.
