Vinogradov is the penultimate in the springboarding discipline; Estonian Ilves second – Beijing 2022

19-year-old Vinogradov in the spring jump from the big springboard showed a result of 88 meters and reached 30.9 points, which gave him 47th place in the competition of 48 athletes.

Meanwhile, the best result in the spring jump was achieved by Norwegian Jarl Magnus Riber, who flew 142 meters and reached 139.8 points.

Estonian Ilves and Japanese Ryota Yamamoto are in second place after the springboard. Both account for 140-meter jumps and 128.7 points.

Riber will start the 10-kilometer ski distance with a 44-second lead over Ilves and Yamamoto, and 47 seconds later Manuel Feist from Germany will start.

Vinogradov will go seven minutes and 16 seconds behind the leader.

The start of the ten-kilometer skiing is scheduled for 12.30 Latvian time.

Five days ago, Vinogradov took the last 44th place in the Beijing Olympic Games in the Northern Duel with a jump from a normal springboard.

This season, the Latvian athlete competed in several Continental Cup competitions, as well as made his World Cup debut at the age of 19.

Vinogradov managed to achieve the best result this season in the first Continental Cup competition, taking the 41st place. In turn, the Latvian athlete took the 48th place in the World Cup.

Before participating in the World Cup, he had already participated in two Nordic World Championships, finishing 50th in 2021.

Vinogradov is the first Latvian representative in the Nordic Olympic Duel since 1936.

At the 2018 Olympic Games, Eric Frencel from Germany triumphed in the northern sprint, the silver went to Akito Vatabem from Japan, and Lucas Clapfers from Austria won the bronze prize.
