Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland, aged 27, 24 and 24, respectively, confirm the assault on the power of young people in the world golf ranking.
They are the three youngest of a top10 that is close to thirty when it does not exceed it, as in the case of the Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy.
Rahm, with an average of 9.3278 points, leads this youth revolution, followed by Morikawa with 8.2373 and Hovland with 7.1461., who also has the honor of being the first Norwegian player in the world ‘top3’.
Hovland’s rise drops Americans Patrick Cantlay and Dustin Johnson one place, while McIlroy’s move up two places to sixth displaces Americans Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele by one.
American Luke List, winner of the Farmers Insurance tournament in which Rahm was one shot off the leader, is the subject of the biggest jump in the rankings this week from 151 to 56.
The Mexican Abraham Ancer, who loses one position and is placed in the twentieth, is the best ranked Latin American player. The Chilean Joaquín Niemann is the 32 winning one, while Sergio García loses three to be number 45.
