EHC Munich – next defeat – sport

The series of defeats at EHC Red Bull Munich continued at the beginning of the new year. On Sunday, the EHC lost their away game at the Grizzlys Wolfsburg 3: 4 after a penalty shoot-out and thus suffered the fifth defeat in a row in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). “We are all disappointed that things are going that way,” said EHC attacker Justin Schütz at Magentasport: “We definitely have to get out of this hole.” Munich coach Don Jackson also had to do without strikers Yasin Ehliz, Frederik Tiffels (both sick) and Frank Mauer (lower body injury) when he was second in the table. But the on New Year’s Eve signed defender Andrew O’Brien made his debut. The EHC fell three times behind against the strong Wolfsburg, but equaled three times thanks to Ben Smith (15th), Daryl Boyle (38th) and Trevor Parkes (53rd). In the penalty shootout, Wolfsburg’s Garrett Festerling made the decision. On Tuesday, EHC Tappara Tampere (Finland) welcomes the semi-final first leg of the Champions Hockey League (CHL).
