Hakim Ziyech thinks he deserves a starting place at Chelsea. The Moroccan, who is increasingly put in the first eleven by trainer Thomas Tuchel, is determined to show that too.
In recent weeks, the former Ajax player has been used more and more by his coach and he thinks that is only right. “I think I belong to the best eleven players in Chelsea,” he tells Ziggo Sport. “The coach looks game by game and then determines who he needs. You know that there is competition at a top club and every player who is under contract here wants to play as much as possible.”
However, the relationship with Tuchel is good enough, according to Ziyech and if he continues to prove himself in training, the playmaker expects to get more opportunities. “It’s up to me to show that I’m supposed to play and I think I’m on the right track now. From the moment the coach came in, he has been sincere with me. Whether it’s in my favor or no, I’d rather you try to do it another way. I respect that in him.”
