Ahn Se-young’s recovery from a knee injury suffered at last year’s Hangzhou Asian Games is taking longer.
The specific diagnosis is partial patellar tendon rupture.
Initially, I was diagnosed that I could return to work in about 6 weeks at most, but as the pain continued, other hospitals I visited took it more seriously.
It was predicted that it would be difficult for the pain to go away until the Paris Olympics, and the decision was made to focus on ‘maintaining’ the condition and adapting to the pain.
Ahn Se-young, who has not been in perfect physical condition since the Hangzhou Asian Games, aims to win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics this year.
Following the diagnosis that recovery from injury would inevitably be delayed, Ahn Se-young chose to adapt to pain in actual combat in order to achieve her goal.
First, I will participate in the Singapore Open starting on the 28th and aim to win the tournament for the second time in a row.
The very next week, I will go to Indonesia and participate in the last international competition before the Paris Olympics.
Se-young Ahn dismissed concerns, saying that her absence from the Uber Cup semifinals on the 4th was due to acute enteritis, not a leg injury.
