WTA – French Open finalist Pavlyuchenkova in Australia in quarantine

Cologne (SID) – French Open finalist Anastassija Pavlyuchenkova tested positive for the corona virus when she entered Australia. The Russian announced on Thursday in the social networks. She was isolated in a “special hotel” and followed the protocol under the supervision of the doctors, wrote the mixed Olympic champion from Tokyo.

Before Pavlyuchenkova (30), Canadian tennis professional Denis Shapovalov tested positive for COVID-19 after landing in Sydney. Much of the preparation for the Australian Open (from January 17) both have to spend in quarantine. Shapovalov wanted to compete in the ATP Cup, which starts on Sunday as well as the women’s tournament in Adelaide.
