World ranking: Alexander Zverev shortens the deficit on Daniil Medvedev by winning the ATP Finals – Sinner in the top ten

Even before the ATP Finals, it was clear that Novak Djokovic would finish the 2021 season as number one in the world.

For the seventh time in his career, the Serb ended a tennis year as the world’s number one and set a record.

Djokovic leads with 11540 points clearly ahead of Daniil Medvedev (8640) and Alexander Zverev (7840).

Zverev not only moved closer to Medvedev, but was also able to clear away from Stefanos Tsitsipas (6540).

World ranking Rafael Nadal still sixth

The Greek remains in fourth place despite his opening defeat at the ATP Finals against Andrey Rublev and his subsequent injury-related tournament task. Rublev is fifth (5,150).

Rafael Nadal remains in sixth place, the Italian Matteo Berrettini, who dramatically had to give up his opening match against Zverev, is seventh.

World ranking: Sinner overtakes Auger-Aliassime and is tenth

Behind them are the Norwegian Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz from Poland. The top ten is decided by Jannik Sinner from Italy.

The young South Tyrolean, who replaced Berrettini as a successor in Turin, was able to overtake the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime in the world rankings with his victory against Hurkacz.

Roger Federer is in 16th place, one place in front of him is Dominic Thiem.

Second best German after Zverev is Jan-Lennard Struff in 51st place. Dominik Koepfer is three places behind the Warsteiner.
