Porto Viro: a recognition plaque was given to the world judo world runners-up

PORTO VIRO (Rovigo) – Wednesday 1st December the Deputy Mayor Doriano Mancin and the municipal councilor delegated to sport Michele Capanna have given three plaques to the vice world judo champions Andrea Fregnan and Pietro Corcioni and to their coach Fabrizio Gazzignato, in recognition of their value by the City of Porto Viro.

The ceremony took place in the premises of the Palestra Eurobody, where the champions train with their teammates. “On behalf of the Municipal Administration of Porto Viro I congratulate Andrea Fregnan and Pietro Corcioni for the very prestigious silver medal recently won at the Judo World Championships in Portugal, in the Katame no Kata specialty – affirmed Capanna – and I cannot forget the coach Fabrizio Gazzignato, undisputed master of the two athletes. We are proud to have been represented at the world championships by these highly decorated athletes, who under the guidance of their teacher have already given us so much satisfaction in the past “.

“The conquest of world silver represents a great result that gives prestige to our city and confirms that this discipline is one of the sporting excellences of Porto Viro” concluded Mancin. The maestro Gazzignato and Andrea Fregnan they thanked the representatives of the municipal administration for the support and closeness shown. Pietro Corcioni, who is absent as he resides in Verona, will be given the plate at a later time.
