Portal: Dinamo has received 48 million rubles for the Matson and Gormley shifts

The continental hockey league unit Riga “Dinamo” has received 48 million rubles (575,735 euros) for the replacement of Juhan Matson and Brandon Gormley with other teams in the league, the Russian sports news portal “sport-express.ru” reports on Saturday.

The portal reports that Dinamo has received 28 million rubles (335,845 euros) in compensation for the replacement of goalkeeper Matson to Ekaterinburg’s “Avtomobilist” and 20 million rubles (239,890 euros) for the protection of Gormley from Yaroslavl “Lokomotiv”.

The 29-year-old Swedish Matson moved from Riga “Dinamo” to “Avtomobilist” on December 13.

Also for the 29-year-old Canadian defender Gormley, who became a Lokomotiv player on December 21, Dinamo has only received monetary compensation.

“Dinamo”, which has not entered the Gagarin Cup for seven consecutive seasons, last place in the league last season, also takes the last place in the Western group this season, surpassing only two laggers of the Eastern group.

With 32 points won in 40 games, the Rigans are 16 points behind the playoffs and have practically lost their chances of qualifying for the Gagarin Cup for the eighth consecutive season.

In such a situation, good foreign players are usually sold to teams that are still eligible for the playoffs.
